let day three begin

Good morning!

Our third day in Germany has arrived and it already feels like we've been here for a week!

Yesterday was spent in the Rhine valley. We took a coach to a small town on the banks of the Rhine. From there we hopped on a river boat and toured down the river for a couple hours. I lost track of how many castles and vineyards we saw. So Beautiful! Big rolling hills with little towns at the bottom and grapes and castles on the top.

After our boat cruise we hopped back on our bus to visit the very historic Marksburg Castle. Reputed to be the only uninvaded hill top castle in all of Germany. We hiked from a little town to the top of the hill and then got a full guided tour of the castle which dates to the late 1100's.

After the castle we once agian hopped on our bus and travelled home. I think most of us fell asleep on the way, but were all awake for dinner, which has been amazing thus far!

After dinner we headed for some cultural experiance and the Dietzenbach wine festival. Yes I know, wine in Germany, but super cool any way. There were probably close to 500 people in a small city square. There also happened to be a samba band playing so we got some late night samba dancing in as well. All very tired we headed for bed and some rest for today's trip to Mainz for a look at some super old churches as well as the Gutenburg printing museum. Photo and video to follow if my computer decideds to like me again!
